Dancing is like this universal language that breaks barriers across the board and something about connecting with another human being through dance. You just feel free It's a one day two thousand six I was in dance class, certainly I felt my elbows tangle next thing you know. I am on the floor and I couldn't move my arms. I couldn't move my legs the next day. I was diagnosed with a rare spinal cord disease and was told by the doctor that I may never be able to dance or walk again Basically, during those two months, um you know I went from unable to move from the neck down standing again and I thought I have conquered the world because here I am I'm walking and I was a miracle baby years passed and then like, I said to myself okay what, if I never was able to walk again, I felt like okay, I feel dustin to develop this craft of wheelchair dance. Maybe I should get a wheelchair dance partner I first reach out to adult though, through facebook messenger, so my message her back and you know told her. I would be interested in learning It first started when he was just she and I'd. You know she was teaching me. You know just kind of the basics. The we'll work, um sort of creating the syllabus of you know what would be the standard for you. No wheel chair dancing. So speed It was like the wheels were gone. It was just me connecting again to another human being and so I said okay. I wanted to offer this opportunity for the entire community we're doing this to bring awareness to people that just because you know you have a slight disability. It shouldn't prevent you from pursuing something that you you want to do
